STAINS OF HUMAN IN MY HANDS

(Ellerimde İnsan Lekeleri)

November 11-17, 2022

İstanbul

Taking place between November 11th and 17th at the historical Hüsrev Kethüda Hamamı in Ortaköy, the first solo exhibition of contemporary artist Ayşe Betil, titled “Stains of Human in My Hands,” became the center of attention for art lovers.

During the opening event on November 11th, dozens of art enthusiasts enjoyed the exhibition and music performances, while the following days witnessed a high turnout of visitors. The exhibition, featuring a total of 65 different artworks, attracted hundreds of visitors. The deep and meaningful emotions reflected in the eyes of the human figures depicted in the exhibited artworks created a striking effect in the exhibition space, with each piece, created using oil paint, charcoal, and mixed techniques, receiving positive feedback from visitors.

Described by observers as “An exhibition that conveys not the outward appearances but the feelings of humans, creating words and emotions from colours,” and just like the portrayal by the artist Betil, excluding the outside world and offering a whole new world to humanity, the atmosphere of the exhibition was worth seeing.
